Change "Order Status" without triggering shipped e-mail?

Is there a way to change the order status to "shipped" without triggering the shipped e-mail?

We actually need a custom order status but for now will settle for changing this to shipped so customers aren't calling and asking why it is still showing as processing or "why did I just get a shipping confirmation?"

We don't want to get into a custom field right now with a custom order status.

Home> Order Fulfillment Settings >Template Based Emails > Shipment Shipped or

(In your top search bar type email and then go to the tab for Order Fullfillment Settings)

That is where you can change when and what happens

Thanks, I needed it to happen for just one order every now and again. I didn't want to change it for all the orders because 75% of them are shipped. The other 25% are handled differently.
