    Reprice Variants

I was trying out the "Reprice Variants" feature but I guess I am not understanding how it works. We have a master product setup with a price. And several attributes that also have prices associated with them. Variants were generated.

We then had to increase the master product price. I thought using the "Reprice Variants" button repriced the variants based on the new product price. But I can't get the prices of the variants to update. I tried "Set Price at Variant level based on Master Product and Attributes" and none of the prices updated. I tried "Set all Variants to be Controlled by Master Product" and all of the prices matched just the master product.

How do we generate the new prices so that it is the Master product price + the variant price?

When you use the reprice variants feature, it should take the master product + attribute prices and use that to overwrite the variant prices if you are using Sum of Parts.

So I checked under Inventory Variants and they are set to "Sum of Parts". So I changed the price of the master product. But when I selected "Reprice Variants" the variant prices didn't change. I repeated the process three times to try each of the 3 radio button options that appear when you click "Reprice Variants" and none of them worked. What else am I missing?

Do you have any orphaned variants that are not being repriced?

Under the Catalog > Products > All tab

Search by variant code and see if you have more than one

None of the variants were being repriced - Under Catalog > Products > All tab was how I was checking the prices after running the reprice. I don't know how to tell which of those are 'orphaned' and which aren't though.

afiumano Try using the option, Set Price at Part Product level based on Master Product and Attributes.

Set Price at Part Product level based on Master Product and Attributes
If you choose to set the price at the part product level, variants with a single part product will be updated to have "Sum of Parts" pricing, and the price, cost and weight of the part product will be updated to match the master product and involved attributes. Variants with multiple part products will not be modified.

That repriced them all - but not properly. They are all priced at the master product price. It did NOT add the price of the attributes in.

afiumano I have confirmed that there is a bug in the reprice variants functionality when using attribute templates.

When you have inventory variants generated with linked attribute templates, using the reprice variants feature in the inventory variants tab does not set the product prices correctly.

As a temporary fix the functionality does work correctly when the attributes are local or copied from an attribute template.
