    GTM-dataLayer updates

Okay, have I been sleeping in class again? When 10.07.00 came out in 6/2023, the GA4 was released with it. Almost immediately an update to the GTM-dataLayer was released taking it to Version 1.0.1, Store owner was having issues with the GA4 results not matching up to the actual sales. After touching all the bases with Google, I reached out to Miva Support and was pointed to an update to the GTM-dataLayer which takes it to Version 1.1.0. What is the best way to be notified of these updates? I assume these files are being pushed with the latest version of Shadows but what about stores that are not using Shadows but are just using the GA4 configuration? I'm assuming this update to the file works "universally"?

lesliekirk The Shadows GitHub repository has all the up to date code for the templates that are included with Shadows.

Here is a link to the changes between 10.07.00 and 10.08.00 for the GTM-datalayer.js resource. You should be able to copy paste the code unless there were any customizations made to the file specific to the store.

We note those updates on the release page: https://docs.miva.com/miva-10-08-00-...lytics%201.1.0

My suggestion would be to use the Watch feature in GitHub to receive a notification any time the repository has been updated.

Thanks, Nick, I probably will need to do that. This could be missed / overlooked because a number of the sites I worked on do not use the Shadows ReadyTheme and one might "assume" this is only for Shadows. Plus the last update I was made aware of was for version 1.0.1 so a lot seems to have happened between then and now. Hopefully, other store owners who may have done the GA4 configuration themselves will find this useful to help find the updates they may be needing.

Nick , was there supposed to be an actual link here? I looked around and couldn't find anything.

Leanne Thanks for catching that. Here is the link:

          https://github.com/mivaecommerce/sha...04a9b3cecf24R1

If the direct link to the file does not work you can search the page for GTM-Datalayer and you will find the diff.
