Installing a new theme in a DEV branch

I am considering installing a new theme called "shadows" on my store. However, I am unsure whether installing this new theme in a development branch will cause any conflicts with the production branch, which currently uses the "readytheme."

Is it possible to install a custom theme in a development branch without affecting the production environment?

Gabriel Lopes If your store is running 10.08 or greater than you should be able to apply any framework to a branch and it will be completely isolated from the primary branch in Miva.
