    Vexture Search

Have several clients interested in using the new Vexture Search feature. They have all ask "can it be developed in a branch" or "along side existing search" without distruption?

Have not seen that info online.

We’ve been a Miva merchant for over 20 years and continue to appreciate the platform’s depth, flexibility, and ongoing innovation, truly one of the best decisions we’ve made for our eCommerce operations.

That said, one area we've consistently struggled with is site search. Since the retirement of trusted third-party modules like Viking Coders and Emporium Plus (both of which served us well for many years), the built-in search solution has unfortunately never met our needs, despite exhaustive tuning from just about everyone. Our catalog is highly specialized and richly layered, making accurate search results absolutely mission-critical to our conversions.

We’ve been watching the development of Vexture with great anticipation, as it appears to be a significant leap forward in this space. Our biggest question now is: When will it be generally available? We were disappointed to learn our store was not selected for the beta, as we genuinely believe our unique catalog, both in structure and content, would make an ideal test case. Still, we're encouraged by what we've seen and heard so far, and remain hopeful that wider access is just around the corner.

We trust that Miva, as always, is making thoughtful and strategic decisions with long-term merchant success in mind. Our intent here is simply to emphasize how vital this development is for stores like ours that have waited years for a viable search solution.

Thanks again to the entire Miva team for your continued innovation. You can’t deliver this product soon enough.

    Thank you, Bill Davis

      Answers to Bruce's questions:

      1. Yes you can setup and test in a branch before swapping it live, same goes for Multi-Domain, you can have it on some stores and not others.

      2. We expect it to be generally available by early September.

Thanks Rick. I think that will work great for the our clients that need this. (Probably 10 to 12.) As you know, this is critical because we generally stop Dev work on client site's in October because that's the real beginning of their holiday seaon.

So far during Beta, we've found that it takes about 2 hours of tuning to get Vexture performing far better than native and for those with exact match part number needs we have one more feature coming in a couple weeks that allows us to blend Native Exact with Texture, prior to it exiting Beta.

So we should have no prob beating your October timeline.
          Thanks,
