Product URI - how is the category in breadcrumbs determined?

I have a product, and it is in multiple categories. I want to include the product link in an email. However, the product link, when used directly, shows a different category than the category I'm currently promoting. Yes, the product is assigned to multiple categories. Is there a way to specify a primary category?

FYI, if the user starts at the category page, clicks on the product, the category in the breadcrumbs is the correct category.

c3idesign You should be able to use the product's Canonical Category Code setting. This setting is used as the default category code when there is no global category code available. So for example if someone is searching for a product that is assigned to multiple categories, the canonical category code will be used within the breadcrumbs.
