    Urgent Help Needed with Email!!!

    I need help checking mu email and it is urgent!!! (I have already submitted a support request).

    What are the server settings that we are supposed to use when checking our domain emails through Thunderbird?

    I was given these configurations, but I get an error from Thunder bird saying "Unable to Log In at Server, probably wrong configuration, username or password"

    Incoming Server
    1. Protocol: IMAP
    2. Hostname: web015.mivamerchant.net
    3. Port: 993
    4. Connection security: SSL/TLS
    5. Authentication method: Encrypted password
    6. Username: [email protected]

    Outgoing server:
    1. Hostname: web015.mivamerchant.net
    2. Port: 587
    3. Connection security: STARTTLS
    4. Authentication method: Normal password
    5. Username: [email protected]
    But that doesn't work.

    I tried this also with a NEW email password that I created through the plesk control panel ( my.miva.com ) and was still unable to do it.

    Please, any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Mark, that's definately a Miva Support question - I moved off Miva's email a couple years ago because I thought everyone was going to be told to move. You might want to start shopping around. I've been using Google Workspaces with my Thunderbird app.

      Another question though: What service are you using now that apparently Goodle isn't working with sending out store emails?

      Meaning, in the Miva Merchant Domain settings, APPARENTLY according to Miva tech support, Google Workspaces can't be used for sending out emails such as order emails , or out of stock notification emails, and such.

      This is the response I got from Miva Tech Support:

      In your Miva Admin, navigate to Settings > Domain Settings and you will see Mail Settings where you can use SMTP Relay to forward messages from your store, through another service's mail servers, and to its destination. Unfortunately, Google has recently disallowed the use of SMTP relay through this type of authentication, and our mail server, the default (or localhost), is no longer active.
      Maybe I am misunderstanding what they are saying? But it sounds like I will have to pony up an additional $20 a month to use Sendgrid!?!?!?!

        Sendgrid is the recommended option for the highest delivery reliability, and by that I mean messages appearing in the inbox of the recipient. They implement all the relevant email reputation protocols (DKIM, DMARC, SPF), as well as deliver the messages from very high volume mail servers; i.e. millions of messages per day, making them "too big to block" by major providers. You can use Miva's mail servers to deliver transactional messages free of charge, but we intentionally isolate customers from one another to ensure one cannot negatively impact another. This isolation means your reputation is only going to be as good as your email volume and rate of complaints, so low volume, or an unusual rate of complaints, will directly impact you where it would not with Sendgrid.
