If a customer is assigned to multiple availability groups will they be able to see products in both groups? For example if I want one group of customers to only see a small group of products then I could assign them to one availability group (limited) and then if I want other customers to see all products I could assign them to a default group plus the limited group of products. Would this work?

Jim Cockerham Yes, when a customer can view all products that are assigned to the Availability Groups they are assigned, even if they are assigned to multiple groups.

Is there any future plans to have the option in availability groups to have the group only show products assigned to it without affecting other users not assign to it? The basic function seems backwards. Just a thought :)Originally posted by Nick View PostJim Cockerham Yes, when a customer can view all products that are assigned to the Availability Groups they are assigned, even if they are assigned to multiple groups.Highly caffeinated

This has come up over the years and the problem with hiding things from the public website and not showing those items, is they're public. Which creates weird outcomes and we've never come up with a valid reason to do that.
If you're pure B2B and everyone should only see things in Availability groups then you can certainly configure things the way you want.
Am I missing something on this idea?

Hi Rick, thanks for the response. The problem that I see is that if you have say 20 customers with 20 availability groups. Specific products should be available to all customers and other products should only be available to specific customers but there will be overlap where maybe several groups of customers have access to some of the same products but not all. How can this be handled as is? This is for a B2B site.Originally posted by Rick Wilson View PostThis has come up over the years and the problem with hiding things from the public website and not showing those items, is they're public. I think the core "problem" you're seeing is that once you assign a product to an availability group its hidden for all customers not in that group (including non-logged in public customers).
It sounds like from your use case, when someone logs in, you want to curate the products they see which could be a combination of public and restricted products. Is that correct?
One option to try, would be create a category for each group and assign the products to that category. Then you can make the category part of the availability group. The products in that group would still be public only the category is hidden. You could even redirect customers to that category upon login with some slight modifications.

Hi Brennan, Yes I think you described my issue better than I did :) Using a category is a great idea, so I did as suggested and it looks great. The only thing left is that all categories are visible to the customers in the availability group. Is there a way to only display the category assigned?Highly caffeinated
