Hi all, hoping someone can help or confirm expected behavior / best practice.
I am using a Template Based Feed to generate a consignor-only report. The feed output itself works correctly (pipe-delimited output, correct filters, no syntax errors).
Goal:
- Generate a private consignor report feed.
- Deliver it by email (inline or attachment) securely.
- Avoid public URL access.
Setup:

I am using a Template Based Feed to generate a consignor-only report. The feed output itself works correctly (pipe-delimited output, correct filters, no syntax errors).
Goal:
- Generate a private consignor report feed.
- Deliver it by email (inline or attachment) securely.
- Avoid public URL access.
Setup:
- Feed Module: Template Based Feed
- Enable URI Access: OFF
- Enable File Creation: ON
- File Location: Data (Private)
- File Path: /consignor-report-CON-0208-ADJv7.csv
- Enable Email Creation: ON
- Email From: Service@<mydomain>.com
- Email Reply-To: Service@<mydomain>.com
- Email To: Jerry_<last>@<mydomain>.com
- Email Subject: Consignor Report: CON-0208-ADJ
Mail Settings in Miva (global):
- Mail Server: smtp.office365.com
- Encryption: STARTTLS
- Port: 587
- Transactional emails from Miva already work reliably for years (order notifications, etc.)
Issue:
- When Email Type is set to Inline:
- Feed run completes with no error, BUT no email is received (not in Inbox/Junk).
- When Email Type is set to Attachment:
- Feed run fails with error: MER-UTL-PUB-00002: SSL Read Timeout
- (I have also seen SSL Read Timeout in feed log during certain runs.)
Notes:
- The feed output works and produces valid data.
- The issue appears isolated to Email Creation from Template Based Feeds (transactional emails continue to work normally).
- I cannot find the Data (Private) file via FTP (expected), but I also cannot get reliable email delivery.
Questions:
- Is there a known limitation or best practice for email sending from Template Based Feeds (especially attachments)?
- Does Attachment mode trigger outbound SSL behavior differently than normal mail sending?
- Is there a payload size/content limitation causing the timeout?
- Is there a recommended secure pattern for delivering private feed output (Data Private + portal page, etc.)?
Any insight greatly appreciated.
