Is there a way to exclude an Availability Group, or a small group of customers, from a particular shipping method? I can see how Availability Groups can be assigned to a particular shipping method, making that method only available to that group, but I don't see how to prevent a set of customers from being offered a specific shipping method.

delcorsets You should be able to check assign an availability group to a shipping method by selecting a shipping method in the Shipping Settings section. Also, within the availability groups section there is an option when the group is selected under the three dots more menu.Nicholas Adkins

Nick Thanks for the reply. Yes, I played with that first - that will only assign shipping methods to availability groups, I'm trying to do the opposite and prevent a group seeing a shipping method.
I have a free shipping method (created in flat rate shipping) that I want to hide from anyone in our wholesale Availability Group. I tried assigning all shipping methods except for free shipping to that group, but then during testing remembered and saw that if a shipping method is assigned to an availability group it becomes shown tho that group only and is not displayed to other shoppers.Psydde Delicious

delcorsets I understand now. There is not a native way to do what you are looking to achieve. In Miva everyone has access to all shipping/payment methods or a group of customers can be set to be the ONLY customers to have access to specific methods, there is no concept of a customer that does not have access to any shipping/payment methods unless assigned. This would need to be done using template logic, you could check a customer custom field and if the value is true then do not show the shipping method.Nicholas Adkins

Hi Psydde, Yes, as Nick said, this can be done with a custom field and some template code. Let me know if you want some help setting it up.Kent Multer
