Custom Login and Custom Landing pages

We are a company that sells custom t-shirts and school spirit items. We want to create a program customized for different schools.

Here's what we want to do:

Each school would have their own ID.
When a student or parent or teacher goes to our website they login with their school ID.
Once the website recognizes their unique login ID it takes them to a custom landing page with their school logo.
From that page the student or parent or teacher can choose from a selection of shirts or hooded sweatshirts with their school logo or t-shirt design already populated on the item.
They can select the item(s) they want, and proceed to a checkout page where they can use their credit card to pay.

Is this possible with Miva, or is there another e-commerce solution available that will handle this with ease?

Do you already have Miva Merchant? The reason I ask is your posting in an old Forum for an outdated version of our product.

If you don't, I'll move this to the 5.5 Forums, where you'll get a lot more response. If you do have version 4, then you'll want to upgrade before you do this.

Yes this can be done with Miva Merchant fairly easily.

We do have Mivia 4.24 Compiled.

I am aware that we would have to upgrade to 5.5.

We already have a license for 5.5, we just haven't upgraded due to it would be a major event.

Once upgraded, you're saying Miva 5.5 could handle this? Would there be a need for extra modules?

It's too difficult to answer whether you'd need modules or not, without a full scope of your project.

But at a high level you'd do this:

        1. Setup each school as an availability group and put their unique products in that group
        2. Provide a universal login for that school (to see their availability group)
        3. Proceed as normal

Depending on what your imagining the rest of the process to be like would answer the module question, but what I just described doesn't use any modules.
        Thanks,

Re: Custom Login and Custom Landing pages

I would bet that with an inexpensive (and absolutely necessary) module such as toolKit by www.emporiumplus.com you would also be able to customize the display of the graphics (like your header logo) depending on which school id they logged into.

Another thought is that you could do something like this using the affiliate program that is built into Merchant 5 and again, use a function in the ToolKit module that could do something like this (toolKit would look at which affiliate link they used, and then assign them to an availability group).

I THINK that is doable but don't want to swear by it. Check with the toolKit documentation and the developer on the emporiumplus.com web site.

Toolkit is good, really good. But it's not available for MM4
