    Thanks Remik.

worried I was missing something that might revolutionize web design.

    Mark,

Good question - but I don't have the answer. We host this web site, but we have not been involved in the design of it. I just wanted to mention it to show the visual "add to basket" functionality since that fit the question raised in this forum thread.

    Remik:

the add to basket function looks great.

although I am confused as to why your client decided to go with reloading a different page when viewing different color attributes. for example, on this page:

    http://www.whitechapel-ltd.com/produ...132SDL1SN.html

It looks like an entirely diffeent product page is loaded when clicking on a different attribute, right?

    Or am I missing something?

I was just going to mention this (although you probably know already) there is an easy, small javascript for changing photos dynamically (if they don't want to go the magic zoom route). they can see an example on this page here:

    http://www.siamese-dream.com/buddha-sandstone-med.html

And clicking on the small l images right beneath the main photo will bring up an alternate photo near instantly.

(Again, I apologize if there is an obvious reason your clients went with the method they chose that I am just not seeing).

    Mark

One of our clients has developed something similar that gives a visual confirmation when a product is added to the cart. Take a look at http://www.whitechapel-ltd.com - add any product to cart and watch the screen. It's nice that the box pops up, and then disappears after a few seconds as not to clutter the screen.

Knowing your audience is key. I know of a website that took a huge hit after a lot of their "cheesiness" was removed.

Gimmicky, wouldn't that depend on who is your primary target audience? In our particular case (over 55, and very limited online surfing/shopping experience) it may be of great benefit.

started a topic Interesting way to add to cart.

Interesting way to add to cart.

Came across this neat idea on how items from product pages are added to cart on a Spanish website, would like to learn how to implement same on
    both MM4.24, and MM5.5.

Its very visual, and eliminates the need of taking shopper from product page to basket, and "continue shopping" back to product page again.

Here is the link: add to cart example.

Please let me know what you think?
Working...
