Nice, we could all wear black and give it a proper burial.

              Re: openui.org has expired

While we might all celebrate the passing of OUI, let's remember that if it weren't around back in the day, then Miva would have been a LOT less popular than it is now.

There was really no way without OUI that Merchant 4 would have been able to compete on its own with most of the other shopping carts out there - a lot of them free.

              [sigh]

And as long as I am walking down the road of nostalgia, I think I will drink a can of New Coke and listen to some Kajagoogoo albums....

                Wasn't it Buddha that said:
"Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment and Miva Merchant 5.5."
Also, it's not "New Code", its "Current Coke".

                ...sorry, couldn't resist :)

Alas, poor OpenUI! I knew him, well; a program of infinite updates, of most excellent features; he hath borne me on his forum a thousand times; and now, how abhorred in my imagination it is.

We are still on 4 because I really don't feel like re-designing our side. Looks like I will soon since we are relying pretty heavily on OUI. *sigh*

FYI, your main header is not loading in FireFox/XP correctly. It only appears on a refresh...a redesign might not be a bad idea.<g>.

I've been doing some updates on the header and nav bar this morning. Is it still an issue for you?

List off a few things that OUI heavy - might be able to list off a few quick MM5.5 replacements.

The biggest issue is that I built this site in 06 and have just been adding on top of everything since then. And since I don't work with Miva every day I have to take a crash course in how the hell I made something work when I need to change it *lol*

I setup a 5 site a couple years ago for a friend, and I think it has everything I need it in, it's just all implemented differently. So my prod, ctgy, navbar, checkout, etc... that I have all customized in open designer will need to be redesigned for 5.5

None of it's a big deal, I just need to find the time to make the change.

Just one example... I have it setup so when I put an amount in the cost field on a product it assumes that the actual price is a sale price. Therefore it displays the cost field in red strike through on products where that field is populated.
