FIREFOX 4.0 causing checkout to fail - can anyone help?

In the past 2 days, we have had several customers who have called us that they cannot move past the checkout page which uses your addendum module, after they enter their credit card.

They enter their card number, but when clicking the continue button nothing happens. The button is dead. In Firefox 3.0x it works fine.

We did ask the customer yesterday what browser he was using - it was the latest Firefox 4.0 version.

So we upgraded to Firefox 4.0 today, and yes - the continue button is DEAD.

This page continues to work in Firefox 3.0 and IE.

We use Miva 4.12 with simple credit card validation.

We did have Adam Toline customize the Emporium Addendum module in 2003 so that customers ordering tricks using fire see a form requiring them to type their birthdate. However, this is not active on this checkout page and we did not add any fire tricks to our cart. The fire form occurs at the beginning of checkout only when fire tricks are added to the cart.

The problem page only uses the standard Addendum module functions and has worked perfectly until Firefox 4 was released. In Miva Admin, Adam typed the following note:

    <!-Addendum questions and requireds have
been moved into addendum.mv module for custom
    scripting reasons->

If I were to make the module inactive to see if the problem disappears or not so I know if it is the module or something else - and I then reactivate it, will all the setup data be there and resume working as it did before?

Where is the all data saved on our server that this module uses; so I can back it up before I do this?

If it is the module conflicting with Firefox, can it be fixed?
If it is the Miva store, can it be fixed?

    Thanks

    Bob

    Hi Bob,

You might want to contact Bill directly. Your host should be able to assist you with any backups you need.

You're really pushing the envelop with the old uncompiled version of Miva Merchant ;)

He has a customized version of the Addendum. He needs to contact the designer who did the customizations. Back in the uncompiled days of Merchant, many modules were mutilated beyond recognition and trying to re-do someone's undocumented work means rewriting the whole spec from scratch. By the time you do that you could have paid to update to 5x which has no known issues with FF4.

That was going to be my first suggestion, but I read "uses the standard Addendum module functions" and forgot about all the hacking we used to do to your modules ;)

Yes, you are going to need to contact Adam. You might also want to think about MM5.5 - it may have a lot of what you need to do already built in or doable with the Toolkit.

Inactivating the module should not cause any data loss, however inactivating it may not remove its code from the checkout page with the way everything has been hard coded.
