    Strong recommendation - Get Wieland's Paypal module.

    It costs $25 and we have found it well worth the price. We have Never had this problem since we installed this module.

    While I am thrilled to see the improved support from Miva, their focus is version 5 and above - I just don't see them making 4.X problems a priority,

      While our focus is on our most recent version we still fully support version v4.14-v4.24 of Miva Merchant so I don't know what you mean by that comment. As a matter of fact Paypal made some changes recently and we released a new version of our paypal module for version 4 and version 5.

        No offense meant - I have found 4.24 to be very stable. I get excellent support from our host Hostasaurus, and I have not needed any Miva support.

        From what I can see in this forum, Miva support has improved dramatically, and I believe that Miva is trying to do all the right things. Even so, Miva is a small company, and all small companies have to prioritize and make choices. Most software companies will (as you say) focus on the most recent version.

          Where can I get this new version of the Paypal module? That must be why I am having problems with Paypal orders.

            Hi,
            I'm having the same problem . . . and the Miva tech support just e-mailed that my issue will be handled on Monday??? What about customer service? I've been on the phone all day long with paypal. They're telling me it's an integration issue with Miva. I can't get Miva on the phone only through the e-mails. At this point I just need the missing orders retrieved and sent to me so I can mail out these paypal customer's orders. Jim McCormick if you can help me out I'd appreciate it greatly, Thank You.

              You are not likely to be able to get paypal to resend the order. You will need to look at your baskets. Do NOT delete expired baskets or pack your data files or the info will be lost forever. If you have not done that, the incomplete baskets are probably still in the store. You can use the lost and found orders module to look them up as incomplete baskets. You have to interpret what you see. In an incomplete basket you will see the products. If a product has an asterisk next to it, it means the customer deleted the item before checking out. So look at the products without asterisk and make sure their summed total would be equal to the amount you received from paypal.com. For more info about the module, look at

I also appreciate the coupon code discount . . . now we'll be implementing your lost and found to approach the customers who didn't complete their purchase, survey them to improve the site, offer alternative ways to purchase if needed and hopefully retain more customers.                     The cause is that the customer does not click the "return to merchant site" button after completing the paypal transaction

                    We used to get this problem, until we put in Weiland's Paypal module, then it never happened again

                      That's not the issue here. PayPal changed their API about a week ago and this only happens if someone chooses PayPal but uses a credit card without logging in to their PayPal account. We figured it out yesterday and you can contact our support department for the updated module when we open Monday morning.
