Can anyone suggest a Miva 4 mod that will save baskets for future purchase that is less than $130? I'm not so much interested in a "wish list" type format as I am just a simple save basket function. Thank you.

Re: Save Baskets for Future Purchase
Wish/gift list lets you save everything in the basket with a single button.

Re: Save Baskets for Future Purchase
I've never found an affordable one that works like I'd like it to for 4.xx. I like Bill's module but if the user has to manually save the basket I just don't see it happening. My workaround was to increase the basket timeout to 1440 minutes from the default 60 minutes, which keeps the basket active for 14 hours or so. It appears that if the user comes back within in that time and logs in (which I think they have to but haven't checked) the basket should be retained. Not perfect but the price was right.
This setting is in Stores >>>> Store Name >>>> Settings.
If my understanding of this concept is wrong perhaps one of the developers can set me straight.Keith Oratz

Re: Save Baskets for Future Purchase
1440 is 24 hours. If they log out, the basket is lost in version 4x. But if they won't go to the basket screen and do a single button click, I doubt they will go to the trouble of logging out. Hence, if they return within 24 hours, they will still be logged in and their basket will still have stuff in it.Bill Weiland - Emporium Plus http://www.emporiumplus.com/store.mvc

You are talking about basket timeout and expiration. Prior to the timeout; the products inventory is NOT available to be purchased by someone else.
The biggest thing with the save feature is it lets the shopper "save" their "work" so they can "reopen" their basket later anytime after a live session/basket would have expired where they cannot get back to it and have wasted their time drilling all around your store and have to start all over. This way they can take a break and come back in the next day or two.
Another use would be a quick way to reorder the same handful or hundreds or items over again like the same set of printable labels or water filter kit etc.
Obviously you'll have to decide how this fits your specific shopping audience. Thanks,
-Barrett

Re: Save Baskets for Future Purchase
Ya got me Bill, it was too late for me to calculate properly...
You and Barrett are both correct, timeout and basket save are different things. I was simply pointing out an alternative. Since we don't have inventory turned on that's not a concern.
Bill, a couple of questions. First, if a user logs out of their account, can it trigger the save? Second, with your module can you put a "Save Cart or List" button in the mini-basket? Whenever I mention going to the "real" basket my customers seem puzzled because they haven't used it.
Have a great one!Keith Oratz

Re: Save Baskets for Future Purchase
There is nothing automatic in the module. They have to go to the real basket.Bill Weiland - Emporium Plus http://www.emporiumplus.com/store.mvc
