Google Sitemap Questions (search friendly links)

    Hi there, Everyone:

We are using the Search Friendly Links module that converts standard Merchant URLs into directory style URLs (such as http://www.siamese-dream.com/page/si...ers-cb-cowgirl )

Should the category URLs in our google site map have a trailing slash? (We are using William Weiland's excellent Template Data Feed to create the site map).

Meaning, which of the following two would google prefer?

    http://www.siamese-dream.com/page/siam1/CTGY/Shoes

    or

http://www.siamese-dream.com/page/siam1/CTGY/Shoes/ (note that it has a / at the end).

    Thanks in advance,

    Mark Romero

The technically correct version would be with the trailing slash (second option) but it is unlikely you will see an impact on search rankings with or without a trailing slash - just be consistent.

Re: Google Sitemap Questions (search friendly links)

      Thank You!

I decided to see how most of my pages that are ranked highly in google are indexed, and they are indexed without the trailing slash, so I decided to leave it off for my sitemap.xml file.

      Thanks again,

      Mark
