Help! The requested URL's length exceeds the capacity limit for this server?

Hey everyone!

I hate to be asking another question so quickly after my first, but I received such great response the first time--and unfortunately--Miva decided to put me in the position where I have to.

In trying to do almost *anything* while I'm working on my company's website, Open UI/Miva keeps giving me one of two errors:

Request-URI is too large
The requested URL's length exceeds the capacity limit for this server.

or

Bad Request

Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand.
Size of a request header field exceeds server limit.

Then, of course, it lists an extremely long URL which obviously is way over 256 characters.
My question is--why is it doing this (creating URL's that are so insanely long it cannot process it) and what can I do to stop or prevent it?

Your store probably has the OpenUI installed and you have a lot of either categories, order batches or both AND you have OpenUI configured to remember which menus you have open or closed which it does by adding info to the URL. The only solution is to tell it to no longer remember the menus which is done under Domain Settings -> OpenUI Setup or get rid of old order batches if that's what you have a lot of.

Dear Sean,

You have a Setting which I think is in the User's Section telling to keep URLs open / epanded or soemthing like that. You need to shut it off. It has been awhile since I have seen this, but I know it is a setting in the OUI that is causing it.

Not to be the ultimate "newb" or anything...

But where do you find options to edit Open UI itself?
I've looked all over after logging in. I can't seem to find anything to lead in to the sections you guys are talking about. Just things that edit parameters of the actual website itself. =/

Dear Sean,

It is either in Domain Setting like David said or Users Settings for each of the Admins.
