It needs to be done inside the body tag. You could do it with OpenTokens in the BodyTag Insert Area, under Head/Body Tags. The code would be a little different than what I posted...something like:
Do you have OUI Advanced (or Basic with the OpenTurbo product)? The HTML isn't slowing down the page load; the body tag's onload event isn't fired until after the page is completed loaded. So it's probably the OpenToken parser taking extra time. I doubt these tokens would add 2-3 seconds if they were preprocessed with the OpenTurbo product. (Which is included with OpenUI Advanced.)

I'm using OpenUI Standard for Miva Merchant v4.13 uncompiled. OpenTurbo is not an option for uncompiled stores.
Anyone know how to get my products that have the attribute as the price to show up in Analytics? The orders show up with totals but it does not track the products. Only products that have an actual price in the price field show up. My products with attributes have a zero in the price field.
I must say this whole thing is somewhat confusing. After reading all of the posts, I am not sure what I need to get the conversion stuff working. I have MIVA 4.16 compiled, OUI standard, no funky supermods. Is it for certain that I would need Bill Gilligan's mod to make this work? And what about the goal URLs? It would be greatly appreciated if someone here can post a step by step of exactly what is necessary, and all of the code entries. Thanks.
This adds 2-3 seconds to the 'OSEL' page load. I don't think it's worth it.
Michael
Michael, just came back out and saw your post. I would agree - it's not worth 2-3 seconds. As I mentioned, I'd not tested it. Out of curiosity though: are you running OpenUI Turbo or OpenUI Advanced? Or OpenUI Basic without OpenUI Turbo?
Turbo and/or Advanced would get you OpenToken preprocessing, which *might* solve the delay. (Again, not tested.)
How is everyone doing with GA these days? We have tracking data, have GOL installed, however it is only picking up part of the sales. There are days at a time that it is not picking up the sales that we see in Miva's admin. I understand that it is most likely due to the visitors not having JS enabled, however this is not making our customer happy. What are our alternatives? Is there any other way to get GA to pick up All of the miva revenue/sales? It is also not tracking our keyword clickthrough's. What we need is something that we can track the AdWords campaign through to the sale. I've been told it is possible with Miva and GA, but I've been trying to find ways to get it to work, with little success? Has anyone else discovered what makes this thing tick?
Has anyone decided against using GA and opted for another tracking program instead? If so, do you have a comparison to give?
Hi Tonya and anyone else struggling with Google Analytics,
My company can fully integrate a Miva Merchant store with Google Analytics. We can track down to the keyword in an adwords campaign and although my Miva sales and Google Analytics sales do differ, they are w/in 5% of each other--close enough considering two completely different reporting systems.

Yes, we have a partnership with Bill Gilligan of Gilligan On-Line http://www.gilliganonline.com/, who I highly recommend for any custom Miva application needs. He supplies us the ecommerce tracking module, which we install for you. We also install all of the tracking code and set up the goals and funnel process, which have to be customized for each site.
The final product is a Miva Merchant website that fully utilizes the capabilities of Google Analytics. These capabilities enable you to see where your marketing is strong and where there are opportunites for improvement.
We also provide consulting on interpreting Google Analytics reports and establishing action plans based on these reports to grow your sales.
Has there been any fix for the problem with this module and attribute prices? What I run into is that many of my products have a zero in the price field and the price is determined by the selected attribute. The problem is that Google will not track any of these products with a zero price.
