bizrate pop-up causing dupe orders

Certain pop-up blockers will cause the web page to reload if the pop-up is allowed, which is a bad thing on the invoice screen of Merchant where you'd normally put the biz-rate pop-up code. Does anyone know of a way to get around this either via a safe pop-up that doesn't provoke a reload or some other creative idea for using bizrate without the pop-up?

I've actually never understood why people think Biz-Rate is a good idea immediately post-order. You can't answer half the questions because you've only participated in a fraction of the purchase - selling relationship.

On another note, I've worked with some clients to instead just put a link to the Biz Rate page, making it a manual pop-up process. Though it's been a long time, I'm not sure if Biz-Rate still offers this ability.

I contacted Bizrate about this problem and they are supposed to send me a bit of code to make the box inline instead of a pop-up. They mentioned having to do something on their server first. I will keep you updated.

I agree with you partially on some of the questions they ask being a bit premature. They do send another email out a few days later to ask how the delivery process went.

If someone knew of a better rating service, I would like to here about it.

Someone at Bizrate was supposed to email me when the engineers fixed whatever needed doing but I never heard back from them. Everything seems to be working good now. I think all you have to do is contact them and request that your pop-up box be made inline. Here is what my code looks like on my Invoice (INVC) page.

That's interesting...Anyone know if there is still a way to send customers a link to the bizrate page to get feedback/ratings w/o doing it from the INVC page?

But, it sounds like you're saying that your code used to result in duplicate orders until you called them and they changed something on their end?

Here's what they sent us, after we asked to switch to embedded rather than pop-up:

Our standard survey code uses javascript and defaults as a DHTML layer in the presence of a pop-up blocker, however you can set up what we call a self-pitching code, which is used in cases in which you can not deploy javascript. To implement the self pitching code you would simply copy the code below and replace the <bizrate_mid> with your Bizrate merchant ID number (you may find your MID in the merchant center by logging in to http://merchant.shopzilla.com).

I have just started advertising on Shopzilla and wanted to know if this duplicate order problem still exists. According to market research the embedded code results in less feedback.

I've gotten it as recently as last month.
