    Ok, so I was mistaken in my last reply. You don't need to do anything in the Inventory tab for each individual product. The main inventory controls do all the work when you use the variants.

      On the Edit Inventory screen under inventory variants, there were a bunch of negative numbers for the product variants that did not correspond to the quantities I had entered individually after clicking each variant link under inventory variants and entering the quantity. Once I updated the negative numbers to positive numbers on the Edit Inventory screen, the Quantity now shows correctly on the inventory variants screen for each variant. Why those Quantities were different on those two screen is beyond me!

        Check out this screenshot. It shows several negative numbers (that don't correspond to what we've sold at all). And the quantity that I entered on the individual variant screen doesn't match at all which you can see behind the popup window in this screenshot).

          You use 'Quantity' to set how many come out of inventory when someone selects one. For instance, if your quantity is set to '2' when a customer puts one in their basket the inventory is depleted by two.

            I see. That would explain the big negative numbers on the edit inventory screen. Thank you. Yet, with all those negative numbers, why was the product still showing up for sale in my store? Shouldn't it have disappeared?

              That depends on how you track low and out of stock items. Go into your main inventory settings.

                I seem to be able to add a quantity to my basket that is higher than the remaining inventory for a particular product variant. How can I make it so that that is not possible? (i,e, a warning message that says "We can't fulfill an order of that quantity. We only have X left.")

                  I just answered my own question. By turning on Track Out of Stock level, it does exactly what I need it to.

                    Look at your Inventory settings. Are you tracking Low and Out of Stock? Look at the store's main inventory settings, not this product.

                        BUG on Launchpad with VIEW ORDERS and MANAGE ORDERS.

                        The wombat upgrade changed our LAUNCHPAD.
                        Before the wombat upgrade ‘VIEW ORDERS’ gave us an overview of recent placed orders.

                        After the upgrade clicking on VIEW ORDERS now shows the MANAGE ORDERS interface. There is a big difference in the use of both.

                        With VIEW ORDERS we had the option to search for a customer name and then were shown all orders of a customer with that name.

                        How do we get the VIEW ORDERS back?
                        We did not change the links in Launchpad.

                        How hard we tried with the links and searched, we cannot get the VIEW ORDERS installed like it was before the upgrade…

                        …or better have both VIEW ORDERS and MANAGE ORDERS in Launchpad available.

                        Anyone?

                          That's not a bug. You can edit Launchpad to take you anywhere you like, it's under Domain Settings.

                            We know that we can change the links in domain settings otherwise we could not have tried to change the outcome...

                            VIEW ORDERS keeps linking to MANAGE ORDERS... and that is not what is was before the upgrade...

                              We know it did.

                              You CAN CHANGE THEM BACK MANUALLY, attached is a screenshot of what that would look like, but make sure you use your store code, instead of XXX in the example.

                                Yes, the update changed it to Manage Orders. If you want to change it to Legacy Order Processing you need to click on Configure Shortcuts in launchpad, edit View Orders, click the radio button for 'Other (Internal):
                                Main Window:' and add Screen=ORDS&Store_Code=XXXX in the text box, click update.

                                Note: 'XXXX' would be replaced with your store code.
