Help!! Miva Mia Merchant Install File for localhost

    Hello All,

A lot of my friends recommended using MIVA Merchant for my eCommerce site. I wanted to try Miva before i jump into to it.

Now i download MivaMerchantMia v-5.07.exe file and installed Miva Mia. Now in the support documents it says

    Download The Install File

Whether you just purchased a MIVA Merchant store license, or are a web host considering including MIVA Merchant in your e-commerce offerings, you should have received an e-mail message that contains a link to the MIVA Merchant FTP site. (This is a separate message from the one you used in the MIVA Mia installation.)
but my problem i didnt purchase any store license because i wanted to try on local computer. so NOW i am stuck, as i dont have HTML and DATA files.

How can i get them, is there a place where i can download some sample or test data files.

I have created my database called MIVADB using MySQL, but the problem is the that database is empty DB as i dont know what tables to create.

CAN someone please help me out, I really appreciate it.

I want to try Miva before i use it for my business.

    Thanks
    Pepin

    Pepin,

You'll need to download Miva Merchant via our FTP site and use a license key to run setup. I'll send you a private message with FTP and a key good for 30 days.

Contact our support team if you run into any issues. Support can be reached at 866-284-9812 or via email at [email protected].

    Thank you,

    Wayne

Please uninstall Mia 5.07 and download v5.06. It's the same FTP. Use the same license Wayne already sent when you (yes I know it's a Miva Merchant license) install v5.06.

Where are your files for Mia located? That error means the CERTS folder is not present. You must also install OpenSSL.

                  pepin,

My first thought is: Chances are you need to install OpenSSL for Windows. I think you'll need to use 32 bit version as the 64-bit won't work If I remember correctly.

                  http://www.slproweb.com/products/Win32OpenSSL.html

Download the 8mb installer version. You also may need to download the redistributables.

Re: Help!! Miva Mia Merchant Install File for localhost

i have installed OpenSSL arleady, the CERTS folder is located in C:\MivaMia , and all files for miva mia are located in that folder C:\MivaMia.

I know i unblocked in my firewall so thats not the issue,

here are all the folders under C:\MivaMia

                    BIN
                    BUILTINS
                    CERTS,

                    DATABASES
                    HTML

                    thanks

                      Hello All,
Its pretty sad that it didn't work out for me with MIVA, if I am facing so many problems just making MIVA run on local computer, i dont know if i want to take that risk with my site running on MIVA.

Thanks guys, but i think i might have to look for different shopping cart interface so i can get moving with my site.

                      Thanks

If your intent is to "try before you buy" I think some of the Miva Merchant hosts might have a demo site that you could access and play around in. Hopefully one of those hosts will chime in and get in contact with you.

The process to have Miva Merchant run and work online is so unbelievably simple with a good web host (we use Morditech, they're great-- but I've also heard good things about others here such as Hostasaurus, eMediaSales, dotCOM host).

I assure you it is worth investigating further. There really isn't a better shopping cart solution available today.

                            Hello,
Ok i have tried everything and finally i got the step where i can see the login screen for the admin.mvc. Now i want to setup the store.

So I typed the username and password: at this url
                            http://127.0.0.1:8000/mm5/admin.mvc

and i am getting this error now

Runtime error in lib/util.mvc @ [00000003:000006f6]: lib/util.mv: Line 217: MvDO: Unable to open '/5.00/admin.mvc': The system cannot find the path specified.
any help is appreciated. as you can see i really want this to work, i have read really good reviews about MIVA, hope this does not disappoint me in considering it.

                            Thanks and appreciate it
