Looking for mod "back in stock" email notification

I'm looking for a module that will allow a customer to enter their email address when an item is out of stock, then when the item is back in stock it will send them an email to notify them.

Is there anything like this out there?

Emporium Plus Tool Kit has a wait list feature that does that exact thing. It works with both the Miva basic inventory and their new inventory variants.

Just want to second the motion to get the ToolKit. It has about a hundred other features as well, many of them that would cost plenty if you were to buy them in separate individual modules.

Look at waitlist at http://www.emporiumplus.com/go/wcw/PROD/1AA/1AA00223 You may need an update of the tool kit if you have an old version.

So the "waitlist" feature requires Wombat (PR7), is that correct?

I'm still a little concerned something won't work after upgrading. I understand it checks all the modules, etc, and lets you know if you need to upgrade them. Should I be worried at all?

You could ask your host to set up a development copy of your site. Then you could run the Wombat update and test everything out without worry.
