    PayPal - Standard vs.Pro

Is anyone offering "Standard" just to let customers pay with "PayPal"?

I have a gateway/processor already (PayFlow), so accepting CC's isn't the issue. I'm just seeing some abandonment at oPAY and wondered if adding PayPal might salvage some of those. From my perspective, Pro doesn't appear to the customer as "PayPal", so despite it's flaws Standard seems to be what I want. Thoughts?

Also, is there any way other than creating a new PayPal account to get around the "You are logging into the account of the seller for this purchase. Please change your login information and try again." error when trying to test?

Plenty of stores accept just plain PayPal and it can help recoup some sales. Though the % of people paying by PayPal is typically well below 10%.

However, if you're experiencing a lot of abandonment, look at other things also:

Do you accept ALL FOUR major cards? Sites that accept only MC/Visa are missing out on many sales. I'm one of those people who doesn't have a MC/Visa and only uses Amex/Discover online.

Is there confusion on the OPAY page?

You cannot test pay yourself, so you'd need to have someone else test the PayPal to pay you - setup a 1-cent test product for this.

We do accept all 4 and the payment page is pretty straight forward. I just implemented the funnel a few months ago, and recently started looking for places to improve and noticed that about 1 in 10 are getting past shipping, but bailing at payment. Wanted to try and recapture that.

As for the testing issue, PayPal is SO clueless (and care less) about the customers they serve.....

Consider installing SHOW BASKETS so you can see those abandoned carts and send customer service emails to those who abandon.

Pamela, will that mod work with your "One Page Checkout" system?
