Backorder Item / Backorder Management

I am running Miva 5 PR7, latest update, mmui, and I only just noticed that there is a new "Backorder" Item. There's no indication of what it does, nor any information in the help files, videos, nothing on the forum, but I'm very curious. The PR7 notes just say Other changes: Backorder Management. Is there any information on this anywhere?
By the way, this is different than the Backorder button in Order management, this is a page item. I assume they must be related?

Backorder item? Are you talking about Page Items?

She is looking at the Manage Orders area and the back order feature.
You use that feature to indicate when an item that is on back order will be back in stock and if the customer Signs in and views the order details, they can see the date.

I think she's talking about the Page Item, not the feature.

The Page Item "it's for displaying information about backordered products on an order" and works on Batch Reports (in PR8) and Fulfillment Modules (like the Backorder email).

The only thing I have is this item:

Wow, no one else has it? Yes, it is a page item. I looked at it under the Pages User Interface under the Items tab (instead of an individual page- items tab) and it says:

backorder Module: Standard Order Item Fields Does that help at all?
