    cPanel for Miva

Hi anyone know if Miva is integrating with cPanel? I know there is one for Plesk.

If not perhaps folks should chime in if this is something that they want Miva to do.

Just to update this post - it has been made clear to me by Miva that they have no intention of creating integration with cPanel.

I was really disappointed to hear this - and after talking to other Miva Merchant resellers we all agreed that this seems like the wrong direction for sure. Now if we want to use cPanel we need to look for another option. Any other input is truly welcome.

Contact www.1steasy.co.uk whom I'm sure will assist. I have over 20 MM5.x stores running WHM/cPanel both dedicated and shared.

What type of integration did you have in mind? Most control panels have a concept of a 'skel' directory that includes files that get deployed in a location of your choice when new sites are added and the Miva engine can easily be part of that; that is what we do on our own hosting servers so each site has its own installation of the engine and no additional work is needed to bring Merchant online other than adding the site. Doing it that way also gives you a far better way to deploy the Empresa engine since it allows you to control the version on a per-site basis (useful when certain modules don't work with certain versions) where a 'server central' deployment would be the same version for all users and has several other disadvantages from a security and configuration standpoint.

          Re: cPanel for Miva

          Hello,

I am going to do an install where every site (I have only two) has its own Empressa engine on Cpanel. Please could you let me know
          a) what things I have to worry about
          b) What changes I have to make in apache so that the request is recognized as a miva request and invokes the empressa engine
          c) any other things that you found you had to do to make things work.

          Thanks
          Sam

Typically you'd just need this in the VirtualHost's definition:

            AddType application/x-miva-compiled .mvc
            Action application/x-miva-compiled /cgi-bin/mivavm

Restart apache. Then install Empresa into the site's cgi-bin. It can be downloaded from:

            http://www.mivamerchant.com/support/downloads

Docs on its config are at http://docs.mivamerchant.com/en-US/m..._resources.htm

Look for the "Install Miva Merchant Empresa on UNIX" section for the "Standard Mode Installation". Ignore the part about "chmod 4755", I'm not sure why that's in there and will get it updated to not be there.
