Enable SEO-friendly store front

Hello,

If you just enable SEO-friendly store front without enabling Site Map and Short links, what does that do?

Enabling store front will make your SFNT page your home page. (at least it should if you do not have a index.html page.

Site map just creates a SMAP page which you can go to and see every link in your site which depending on the site is a big mess of links but back in the day it was useful for seo purposes.

That is what is confusing me as my SFNT is my home page without it being enabled?

Then this change was already made for you manually via htaccess. The check box simply makes new stores be able to make that change automatically.
