    UPS Domestic Shipping Calculator confusion

Hello, I'm using the UPS Domestic Shipping Calculator function for a new store.

There is a product that is 4 pounds and shipping it UPS ground is $8.71, but when I add another of the same product the total is $9.72.

If a customer orders two of the same product shouldn't the total $8.71 + $8.71?

    Hi Billiam,

Typically no - unless you ship each product package separately. Usually there is some base price for the shipment, then additional price based on the weight of that shipment.

So a 0.1lb package might cost $5 (eg, essentially the minimum shipment charge) while a 1.1 lb package might only be $6.

    best,
    James

Oh ok...perhaps my assumptions were wrong. Thanks for clarifying.
