PR 8 Installation Failure

    PR 8 Installation Failure

    just tried installing PR 8 and it failed. It gave me this error:

    Pre-install validation failed. No modifications have been made to the existing installation. The following issue must be resolved before installation can continue:


    Unable to validate functionality of the GD builtin function library: System library 'GD' is not registered


    After this issue has been resolved, please select Restart Failed Installation
    If you would like assistance with resolving this error click the Submit Error Report button below and a Miva Merchant Support Technician will contact you as soon as possible.
    I went back to the update screen from the bottom of the left hand category tree and then clicked on the Resume Installation (recommended) radio button and clicked continue, and it gave the same error.

    I submitted a ticket (automatically) to Miva. should I clcik on the Discard Failed Installation???

      This sounds like you need your host involved for this. I'm pretty sure the GD library and MivaConf need to be updated,

            Thanks for your attention - and sorry for my extra does of snarkiness lately; I am trying to give up drinking coffee :(

            the Ticket ID is: #KDQ-906-79793

            (Just so you know, this is a manually created ticket by myself. when the upgrade failed, there was a checkbox for sending a ticket automatically through the support system. I tried the automatic system and then went to my list of support tickets and didn't see anything in there, so I just did a manual one.)

                Is your store email the same email you use for support account? If not, it wont be there (i believe). I've already requested that miva not use the store email as the default for these and other emails since 90% of the time it goes nowhere...even with our clients.

                  I had the same problem last night. Can you fix mine too? I submitted a ticket but haven't heard anything back yet (Ticket ID: CCX-416-74406).

                        It looks like your engine configuration is missing the GD library configuration. This should be a quick fix and I'll have an engineer squeeze this into their to do list today.

                            Actually, it turns out it was not the same. I have two Miva stores and I usually use one email for support requests for both stores.

                            However, the automatic notification that was sent when the installation failed used the the email from a store that I DON'T have attached to a support account. So when I logged in with my first email, I didn't see the support request.

                              I got the same error about the GD. The update failed. I submitted the report. What to do next? It looks like my store is still working but I don't want to take orders if the databases are corrupted.
