    Re: PR 8 Installation Failure

The GD Library is for Image stuff and the failure is during pre-validation. No changes were made to your store database or otherwise.

      Re: PR 8 Installation Failure

When submitting to support, do they put the store in maintenance mode before making updates?

        Re: PR 8 Installation Failure

I doubt it, but I'm not 100% sure. The GD Library is simply adding one line to the mivavm.conf file for a new built in.

Oh, ok. Then they did not need admin access to the MM admin as I will still be doing the pr8 update. They are just correcting the conf file.

Rick/Wayne - what changes need to be made to the conf file. Everything else was pretty intuitive or covered in the docs.

              Thanks.

How did you find out that they modified your conf file. I haven't heard anything back from the escalated support ticket.

                      Bill -

I keep reading about some special config needed for the GD library, which is already in the builtins, but doesn't seem to be seen by the PR8 upgrade process, in posts from official Miva folks.

I did find the other change that needed to be made:

                      http://support.mivamerchant.com/supp...ile-mivavmconf

The post is old, but was updated to reflect v5.12 - but no change regarding the GD library, so I remain confused.

The GD library is a server SYSTEM library. It is not a builtin. The article you linked is old but if you look in the /doc/ folder that comes in Empresa v5.12 (mivavm-v5.12/doc/) you'll see the README.txt and RELNOTE.txt. Open the relnote.txt and scroll all the way down to the bottom. You'll see the GD library info:

                        Code:
                        GD builtin functions:

Win32: The library registration dialog now supports a "System" library type.

                        3.x Configuration:
                        <SYSTEM-LIB CODE="GD" LIBRARY="path/to/library">

                        Environment Based Configuration:
                        MvCONFIG_SYSTEMLIB_GD path

If you're using 64 bit Empresa you need to call on the 64bit libgd.so library. If you're using 32bit Empresa you need to call on the 32bit library.

All I got was an email with a link for "You can check the status of or reply to this ticket online at: ". When I click that it tells me nothing about my status. It has been about 6 hours. Is it taking everybody else longer than that or did mine get lost in the shuffle. I suspect there are thousands of people trying to update. An estimated time would be helpful in that status link. I have certain parts of the store shut down awaiting this to take place.
