    Inventory Kit Builder Tutorial?

Is there a good tutorial on the Inventory Kit Builder? I'm trying to understand it's usage. Will it work with Attribute Templates? Is it even what I need to use?

I need to have a product that will have attributes that will be dependent upon other attributes. For example, if the custom selects a combo pack of the item, they get to choose 3 colors, but if they just want the item itself I don't want the 3 color selection available - just a single color selection.

The combo pack will also have other options that would be available only to it.

I like to be able to use Attribute Templates because some of these options will need to be available for other products in the store.

I'd also like to be able to activate the Inventory Control for this one product, so if for example the XL Purple sells out, it can be marked as such and not be available to select.

    Thanks,
    Leslie

Wayne, I'm thinking there needs to be a master list of all these videos. I dug through Pamela's book first, then went to Chuck's videos. Hopefully their are LOTS of screenshots like in Chuck & Alex's videos. Would be nice if the documentation covered it too. I'm going to go out on a limb and "assume" it's for PR8?

        Thanks!

          Re: Inventory Kit Builder Tutorial?

Thanks for the link - 30 seconds into the video I figured out I don't think I need kits as it appears to use multiple products. So now I have to find a tutorial for creating 1 product with attributes that are dependent upon other attributes.

          Thanks,
          Leslie

Can you describe what you're trying to do, that might make it easier?

              Sure

I would like to be able to use Attribute Templates if possible

I am trying to create on "Master" product with a number of options.

The first option will need to be the size - this will be "universal"

The second selection will be an offering of a single, a single-pack and mutli-pack

If you select the single the next option that should be available is the color choice, followed by the two "disclaimer" type options.

If you select the single-pack, the next option would be the product color, then a color select for the first item additional item in the pack, then a select for the third item in the pack

If you select the muti-pack item, the next select would be "color 1", the a select for "color 2", then a select for "color 3" followed by the same two options that the single pack has.

              - Single
              - Color
              - Yada 1 Text Field
              - Yada 2 Text Field

              - Single Pack
              - Color
              - Pack Item Color
              - Pack Item Quantity
              - Yada 1 Text Field
              - Yada 2 Text Field

              - Multi-Pack
              - Color
              - Color 2
              - Color 3
              - Pack Item Color
              - Pack Item Quantity
              - Yada 1 Text Field
              - Yada 2 Text Field

So the selection are dependent upon what is selected. Ideally not even displayed unless the appropriate attribute is selected.

Didn't I also hear Rick say this doesn't work with products that have attributes?

FYI - the video makes it look very easy! Thanks Rick for the video.
