i have several customers who have been complaining about abandoned carts/dropped order lately. they are still successfully getting other orders, but there have been large jumps in order numbers they are concerned with. i know some abandoned carts are to be expected, but one client in specific has noticed the problem only since switching to a PR7/8 store from his old miva 4 store a few months back. i checked their sites and analytics and didn't find any obvious issues, but then i found something today. while using Internet Explorer 8 with security settings set to HIGH, i found that the checkout button on the basket page does not work. looking at it further, i see that the checkout button on the basket page uses javascript to function and move forward in the checkout process. but if IE 8 high security settings disable javascript, this button won't work. the 'checkout' link/button in the top main navigation works because it is just a simple html link, but the button does not with javascript disabled.
i searched through the threads and didn't find any mention of this. has no one else noticed this, or am i totally behind or missing something about this? i can definitely fix this of course, but i guess i was just surprised that this might be a problem originating with the stock BASK page.
