    New Goggle Feed help

I have a few question on the new Google feed requirement and perhaps those who have been through the ringer already can help - please!

Using Template Data Feed, I have got most of the columns exporting OK with a just a few missing. The store sells fancy dress costumes that come in various sizes (controlled by attributes). My problem columns are:

    Shipping
    Google product category
    Gender (required for clothing)
    Age group (required for clothing)
    Product type

    Shipping
What is the best way to handle this. In this store the shipping is done dynamically with UPS & USPS modules. Would it be far simpler to have a flat rate shipping rate along with the other rates?

    Google product category
To get Google's correct taxonomy, should I just have a custom field and enter the correct line for each product eg
    Apparel & Accessories > Costumes & Accessories > Costumes
    Apparel & Accessories > Costumes & Accessories > wigs

    Gender
Custom field for the male or female?

    Age group
Again, custom field for the the various age groups?

    Product type
This is causing me a few headaches.
How do I get the feed to list category the product is in eg
    Men's Costumes > Men's Scary Costumes

How will the feed know what categories to grab as most products are in several categories.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Re: New Goggle Feed help

Quick note of the Google product category - the EmporiumPlus Template Data Feed's Category Matching was a HUGE help with getting this part of the feed done. I used the category names for the product type on the feed I just did battle with.

Category matching for the google product category

Exclude categories that are duplicates, e.g. specials. If you exclude certain categories it will narrow down which category is used by the product as its category.

Custom fields for the other stuff.

Inventory variants for the size issues.

Shipping: We just setup a flat rate shipping table on Google.

Google Product Categories: Ditto, Bill Weiland's response

Gender: There is no gender selection for costumes on Google at this time. Might want a custom category anyway for people searching on your site if gender is not already in one of the searchable fields.

Age Group: Custom category. Google will accept this field. We don't use this, so you will need to download Google's feed specs to get the right data format.

Product Type: This is already in the module. Change the category.name field to category.names to export full breadcrumbs
