Volume Pricing won't recognize same product with different attributes.

    Hi,

I have Bill Weilands Volume Pricing module and it works like a champ. However I am having trouble with a product that has attributes.

We sell a rosette that comes in three different sizes. It is the same price for each size and so the same quantity discount applies to all sizes. Customers have to add different sizes to the cart separately. When this is done, the module does not seem to combines sizes to get the quantity discount.

In other words, I have a quantity discount to kick in at 12 pieces. If I add 6 smalls and 6 mediums - the discount is not being applied. Here is a link to the product.

Any ideas for a work around?

    Many thanks,
    Matt E.

I am sure Bill might have a better answer, but we somewhat solved this by loading all the attributes into the same product and totaling the attribute selections into the product quantity. Of course, this took a bit of custom tweaking, especially to support editing the "product". Perhaps creating these as "kits" would work (don't know, just a guess).

Did you check the box 'Amalgamate Quantity' in the products > volume pricing tab?

As above, go to the product edit screen and click the volume pricing tab. Scroll to the bottom and check the box that says amalgamate.

Amalgamate. Yes - that did it. Problem solved. Thanks everyone. And double thanks to Bill for giving us all a chance to use the word "Amalgamate"! I dub thee, good sir, The Great Amalgamator.
