    Endicia default label

I use a return address label on my Endicia account that has my business logo. With the Miva 5 Endicia, I do not see how/where to select this label rather than the default which just lists the typed business name/address. Is my label possible to select?

    Re: Endicia default label

According to Endicia's documentation for their API's:

    Q. Can I add my company logo to the shipping label?

    A. We do not offer it as part of the interface, partly because the overhead of sending the additional image back and forth may impact performance. However, we return your image of the label, on which you can superimpose your own logo.
You might contact Endicia and see if they have any information we don't have in their docs.

Thanks for the info. I will contact Endicia. Are you saying that the default label is stored at Endicia? When I currently use my Endicia, I have the default label (with my logo) stored on my computer. I am assuming that this is not possible within Miva.

        Re: Endicia default label

I don't really know how their desktop software stores it, but that's probably correct. What they're specifically saying is that you can't add your logo to labels generated via their API's because it would cause too much overhead.

However they do leave a little black box in the upper left corner, so you could in theory use Photoshop or similar to add those in, but that would obviously only be usable on very small numbers of shipments.

          Re: Endicia default label

For us when generating a label with a logo we have to use the desktop software to do it seeing as though its on the software side not Endicia. If Miva worked (talked) with the software it would be great, but as such it doesn't appear it does and as such means for us at least the internal Endicia method use within Miva just isn't going to work for us unfortunately.

            Re: Endicia default label

So is putting your logo on an Endicia label important to many businesses? We are unlikely to "work" with the desktop Endicia software, but we could almost certainly add the ability to upload a logo to go on top of that black box on the labels.

Hi Rick, no its not vital, yet it spruces thigns up some. Like for christmas time, we had a snowman showing, for valentines, we had a heart... It just spruces stuff up a bit and makes it more of a personable look IMO. The ability to beable to upload an image to that would really be nifty.

It's a cool idea, will you post it in Dream Features so I don't forget, but I'll talk to Dev and if it's easy we'll probably do it quickly.

                    Rick,

If this is printing from Merchant, wouldn't all you need to do define a Background image for the "page" that is printed and use CSS to position it? (Just guessing...never used the shipping labels as everything we do is software and 90% of our clients ship via UPS/FedEX

Rick anything on the horizon for a logo setup as discussed above.... Another issue we haven't been able to use the new admin setup is in Endicia Dazzle (software) If we want to ship something first class, ( it has to be under 13 ounces ), (as Endicia has a list, 1oz, 2oz etc.. which a lot of our items are less than 13 ounces we sell) There is no choice for ounces (or we can not change to ounces) only pounds in miva setup...which is only good for Priority mail or Express.

No progress on adding a logo, it's unlikely anytime soon.

Rick in the weight section, its just LB that shows..... Trying to change it to anything under 1.00 LB wont work.

                              Hi Rick,

Yes i can change that, but that makes it all global and we do have things in pounds also. It's at the shipping end where we decide based on customers choice and criteria whats best for that situation. What is needed to make this work for us, is a drop down of unit selections. Endicia software, besides the logo implementation there is a drop down to choose what unit you want, oz,lb which is vital for us to have.
