Hi All,

I am looking for a way to have a coupon like: Buy One and Get A Second Item of Equal or Lesser Value for 50% Off. I have the Toolkit and Coupon Redemption modules. Any advice would be appreciated.

The coupon module can do it but it has to be a specific item that is 50% off. See the usage doc for how to set that up.

Thank you for the response. I did see that option in the module...but I need a way to offer 50% off of any product. Is there any way of doing this?

Not with a coupon. There is a buy X get 1 free module. But that module is for any X. Then the free (or discounted) item is any item of equal or lesser value. So there are no restrictions on which products qualify and which are discounted. It is like going to a restaurant where you buy 1 entree and get the 2nd at 50% off.

Thank you again for the quick response. I am trying to find a way to get close to what I need. Is there a way with the Combo Percent Discount to say if it is A and B, or A and C, or B and C then apply the discount?

The combo requires ALL the products in the list to be in the basket. So just 2 of the 3 will not work. It has to be all 3.

How about a variation that they have to pick at least two products - A, B or C, any two, like a minimum quantity, and they get the discount? Could this be programmed using discount in the Toolkit? I only have a category of nine products that I want to be able to provide a single coupon code for and if they buy at least a qty of two from any of thse nine products they can get a discount.

It probably could using the discount function. But I don't have an example of that and the cost to do the coding would be more than a module designed for that scenario. Why not just use a category discount module? If 2 are ordered (any two or the same X 2) then give the discount. For example http://www.emporiumplus.com/1AA00038.html It won't do what you described in the first post in this thread but it will discount by category.

Probably not anytime soon. I'm still trying to decide if I want to add gift certificates to the coupon module. As it turns out, the POINTS feature in the module can be used as a gift certificate already. But if you do it that way, you can't use it for points. It is either points or gift certificate, but not both. My decision is if I want it to be able to do both.
