    Emporium Plus Template Data Feed - Exclude all prods in one category?

    Template Data Feed for Google feed.
    How would I exclude all of the products in ONE of my categories? I want to run a template for google product feed but want to leave out all of my products in one category only. I tried going to: Exclude these Categories and then entered: catxxx| but that seems to only exclude the actual category name and not the products in the category. I can not list each product to exclude separately because I'm working with 100's of products I uploaded only to that category.

    Thanks!

    That excludes products under that category. But if those products are in another category which is not included, they will shows as products in that category.

      Hmm, that didn't seem to work. I will try it again. Also, I set up the category matching for google. On my last category, after I press "update" I keep getting a string of ? marks after it. FlashCards=Media > Music

      What's the deal with that?
      Thanks,
      Gary

        Are you copying and pasting from some text editor or did you type the text directly in the input? If pasted from somewhere else, you've put text from the wrong character set into miva merchant.

          Thanks for your quick responses! I was off the comp for a bit.

          I'm typing directly into miva from my keyboard. All the other characters are fine. It just happens on the last one. Everything is fine until I press update and then the last string (as you see here) comes up with that ?. Here's what it is:

            Put a bogus line after that one, ie a category that does not exist.

              Okay. I just tried that. The weird thing.....it erased the bogus category line and stuck the ? marks back at the end of
              FlashCards=Media > Music
              Maybe too many lines?

                Re: Emporium Plus Template Data Feed - Exclude all prods in one category?

                Okay. I took down the amount of lines by backspacing. That worked. Example

                Gifts=Arts & Entertainment > Musical Instruments| FlashCards=Media > Music|

                Do I need to add commas or anything or does the | take care of the separation?

                  Re: Emporium Plus Template Data Feed - Exclude all prods in one category?

                  Back to the exclusion of products. I see what's happening. I imported about 10,000 products and I did not associate them with any category. Is there any way to exclude products not associated with a category?
                  Thanks!

                    You would have to list every product code to exclude in the product code input.

                      Okay. I'll then upload the products again and put them in a specific category. Thanks for all your help Bill! Well I have you on the horn...one more question: I'm trying to implement the "reviews" feature with toolkit. Are there any step by step tutorials out there for this?
                      Is there also a way to get something like this site does out of it: http://www.wwbw.com/Buffet-Crampon-R...-i1143739.wwbw They have the three tabs: (Description/Customer Reviews/Beat This Price) Check it out, if toolkit or another module of yours can do something like this that would be great! Thanks again for all your help - Gary

                        There is a "how to" in the product page at Emporium Plus. I have seen stores that have hidden the review form in a tab. I have no idea which stores did that though.

                          Do you think I'd have more functionality/control if I bought a reviews module as opposed to using the toolkit? Or can I get the same thing out of the toolkit?

                            I doubt another module would have more functionality than the tool kit ratings and reviews. But then, I am biased. :-)

                              I thought maybe Emporium Plus offered an alternative Reviews module. I see you had one for miva 4. I will definitely employ the toolkit ratings and reviews module. I'm going to work on setting it up today. Thanks for your time and your awesome help.
