Availability Group? Sub Store for a Customer?

I could use some help sorting out our options here. We have a store at allfrom1supply.com and we have a large customer who basically wants a private store - only show approved products on the list (their branch locations can only buy these specific items), with their price group pricing and they don't want them to see anything else.

I am not sure if I can do this with availability and price groups or if it possible to create a 'sub store' that will be shown to people who log in who are members of this customers group or do we need to set up a new store (which will contain many of the products from the main store, just different pricing, but then we would probably have to sync and add many new items to both store).

I'm hoping you can give me some ideas of the best way to approach this because, as usual, this needs to be done in a very short and unreasonable length of time.

I think you might be able to do this with the Wholesale Pricing module.

Productivity Web Development specializing in Miva Merchant Online Store development, Miva Merchant Module development both retail and custom modules.

As long as customers need to be logged in to see pricing, and are assigned to WPs pricelist, I am pretty sure this will work. You won't need to deal with price or availability groups. Take a look. I'm happy to answer any questions.

    Best,

Thanks for the suggestion. It looks like the module wouldn't show only items assigned to a particular customer. In reality what they are asking for is basically a custom store carrying a subset of our products that have approved for use by their management.

      I'm open to other ideas.

      Thanks.

Apologies. I didn't understand completely it was a different "set" per the customer.

I think getting an additional storefront would/might be the cleanest method.

However, Here is an idea. WP Pricing doesn't care if the products are in specific categories. This means you could use availability groups. When customers are logged in, they get the category for this "vendor/client" of where all their products reside. If there are products that are available to everyone, then WP can handle the prices for the specific vendor. The vendors products and categories won't show up unless the designated customers are logged in. This happens out of the box and WP is not a factor since WP only adjusts prices.

That is a draw back also that those product aren't available until the right customers log in. But, may be acceptable by design I guess.

Extending the thought, All the vendors products may need to be all unique codes whether there are common products or not. IOW, if you have duplicated products, all the pricing can be unique by default and WP is not needed.

On whole That idea can be great for the right scenario. But, it could be extra product management. As I mentioned, the cleanest method will be the additional storefront or a completely unique store.

        FWIW,

        Scott
