When using Invertory Variants Image Machine not resizing #main_image

I'm having an issue with Image Machine where it will not dynamically resize images on the PROD page when using subproducts via Inventory Variants.

If you look at this product, which is a single SKU with no variants, it resizes properly to the dimensions specified:

However, this example is a parent product with multiple Inventory Variants for respective sizes, which for some reason the image is not being resized:

I have never had this problem before and am at a loss - any ideas?

      Hey Mike -

I was able to take a look at your store. It looks like the image was showing up as a 300px image in Miva, when in was actually 1000px. Did you update this image at all via FTP.

I was able to download the original image and re upload it which looked like it fixed the issue.

        Hi Brennan,

Yes I changed the master images via FTP and then clicked "Check for Updated Images" under "Image Management", but it didnt seem to re-crop the new version of the images on the PROD template page - it recropped them fine on the CTGY template. I even tried manually processing the images and naming them as the image machine does (i.e. picture1_360x200.jpg) but cant figure out how to get Miva to recognize the new versions

I figured out after a while that it has nothing to do with the Inventory Variants, since I loaded a couple of new products and created variants without issue; apparenetly it has to do with changing the existing master images and keeping the same naming convention

The best thing to do when updating images using Image Machine, is to avoid FTP altogether. When you upload an image via image machine, Miva saves data about that image in its database. Since you changed this image via FTP, the data in the database was different than what the actual image really was. Miva thought the image was 300px wide (so it did not create different sized images) but in reality it was 1000px.

Re-uploading the fullsized image to the product via the miva admin, updated the database which is causing the smaller images to now be generated.

there is a tool in the utilities that will let you 'refresh' all the images in case you did ftp them. it's a button that says "check for updated images". it discard the old versions and makes new ones from the updated images.
