    Payflow Pro - Comment1 and Comment2 parameters

We recently upgraded to PR8. We then switched from the "PayFlow Pro legacy" module to the new module "Paypal payments advanced and/or Payflow Gateway".

So far so good, except for one thing: The comment1 and comment2 parameters no longer seem to be sent. Previously, in paypal manager, the comment1 and comment2 fields would be filled with "Miva Merchant Transaction" and the order # respectively - now they are blank.

    Where/how can I define the comment1 and comment2 parameters?

You can't. We were not aware people were using them for Invoice numbers in Comment1, what were you doing in Comment2?

For now you could go back to the old module, or wait until we update the new one once we fully understand what people are doing with the Comment fields.

Re: Payflow Pro - Comment1 and Comment2 parameters

      Hello Rick,

Thanks for a quick reply. We'll revert to the old module for now.

Comment1 didn't have the invoice number, it was just "Miva Merchant Order"
      Comment2 had the order number

I'm not aware of any custom changes we did to configure that, but I might be wrong.

It would be great to be able to configure extra parameters in the admin UI, maybe a drop-down with a few different options (customer name, Order#, etc.) for each parameter.

I think it was just that way stock. Since we already send that in the Invoice field we thought it was redundant. We didn't realize the Invoice field is apparently not searchable in the same way as the Comment fields.

I got information from Development that we're planning on reinstating the old behavior in the new module in PR8 Update 7 (probably September).
          Thanks,

Re: Payflow Pro - Comment1 and Comment2 parameters

We were using this as well for troubleshooting issues with transactions. One improvement would be to include in the Comment 1 field the store code rather than just "Miva Merchant Order", that way if you have 15 stores using the same Merchant account and all are using the same order number ranges (can't find where to change this except by manipulating the data file) then you have an idea of which store the order is from.

That is sine you have to change the code anyway.

We're going to add the Store Code to Comment 3 in Update 7, FYI.

I don't think Comment #3 is a value that PayPal Manager has for export so that would not work for those user, which includes us.
