Setting up PayPal Advanced Credit Card Processing

Not sure which urls to use in the Paypal integration page.
    • Using Miva 5.5 with Production Release 8 Update 6
    • (store 3) Payment Settings in Miva set to PayPal Payments Advanced and/or Payflow Gateway
Transactions starts ok on the miva side (the framed paypal page, express and credit card choices display and transactions are processed) but doesn’t return to miva page on a successful or unsuccessful transaction on the paypal side.

In the PayPal Manager Hosted Checkout Pages section, the following settings are in place:

    Display Options on Payment Page:
Enter Text for Cancel URL: Cancel this Transaction
Enter Cancel URL: What miva page url is supposed to go here?
Enter Error URL: What miva page url is supposed to go here?
    Cancel URL Method: GET
    Enter Button Text: PAY NOW

    Payment Confirmation
Show confirmation page: on my website
Enter Return URL: What miva page url is supposed to go here?
    Return URL Method: Link

    Silent Post for Data Transfer
    Use Silent Post: NO

    Security Options
    AVS: FULL
    CSC: FULL
    Use Secure Token: NO

I’m looking for the right urls in the above 3 prompts. Thanks

Re: Setting up PayPal Advanced Credit Card Processing

I believe both Error and Cancel URL's are supposed to be left blank (as the version of Advanced we support handles those within the iFrame) and the Return URL should be the www.yourdomain.com/mm5/merchant.mvc URL (it may need to be secure, I'm not positive).

I'll have Development confirm on Monday morning, but if you want to test right now, that's how I would test it.

We do use Secure Tokens as well, I'm not sure if that setting is improper for our configuration.
    Thanks,

Re: Setting up PayPal Advanced Credit Card Processing

Thanks for quick reply. Some progress:
      - did change the secure token to YES.
      - both for a valid credit card and a valid paypal account using http://www.yourdomain.com/mm5/merchant.mvc does resolve the question:
Enter Return URL: What miva page url is supposed to go here?

      - on an error (bad zip code for example) leaving the url prompt blank does not generate any default page on paypal side or return to an error specific page or display on the miva side. In our case it landed on the Select Store page (we have mulitple stores).

      - on an error with the credit card (bad number) does generate a paypal error message inside the frame prompting for a correction. But an error with the CSC number for the credit card again lands on the Select Store page.

One additional comment, it doesn't seem like you can test with PayPal credit card processing unless you turn the Transaction Processing Mode on to LIVE in Paypal Manager in the setup for hosted check out pages section - if you have PayPal Express turned on. If you try TEST mode, the frame on the miva checkout page fails and displays an error associated with paypal express.

The open question is how to handle AVS and CSC errors. Thanks.

Re: Setting up PayPal Advanced Credit Card Processing

Cancel URL needs to switch from Get to Post and that should solve your issues.

The “Return URL method” under “Payment Confirmation” should also be set to “Post” and not link.

          Hope this helps.
