It's more than that, I'm walking a fine line even discussing this whole concept exists. Luckily our relationship with UPS is very positive and cooperative and I want to be sensitive to their needs around this subject.

This really shouldn't be an issue. Merchants should be able to offer any carrier and multiple carriers as they see fit to suit their store and client needs. At the moment basically all this is doing is causing my clients not to want offer UPS because of these restrictions. That's a fact. At least 3 of my clients have said to me the heck with UPS then, just offer USPS and FedEx. Perhaps UPS isn't aware of this trickle effect.

You're preaching to the choir and I've stated that many times to them, but at the end of the day they require a contract be signed for companies like us to integrate with them. A term of that contract which is generally non-negiotable is that you can't use their API's to simultaneously show rates side by side with FedEx or USPS.

As much as I don't like it, it's their rules and the best we can do is to work with them to change their rules if we want to be able to integrate with them.
