Google Shopping Datafeed Requirements and Miva Inventory Settings

Hello Rick and all,

Can Miva add two attributes "available for order" and "preorder" to Miva's Inventory/Availability messages or settings? We need to be able to specify certain custom made products as "preorder" in our datafeed for Google Shopping. I already asked Bill Weiland to see if I could somehow create it with TDF or Toolkit but there is not at this time.

The availability attribute only has four accepted values:
•'in stock': Include this value if you are certain that it will ship (or be in-transit to the customer) in 3 business days or less. For example, if you have the item available in your warehouse.
•'available for order': Include this value if it will take 4 or more business days to ship it to the customer. For example, if you don’t have it in your warehouse at the moment, but are sure that it will arrive in the next few days. For unreleased products, use the value 'preorder'
•'out of stock': You’re currently not accepting orders for this product. (Important tip: When your products are out of stock on your website, don't remove them from your data feed. Provide this value instead).
•'preorder': You are taking orders for this product, but it’s not yet been released.

When to include: Required for all items in feeds targeting the US, Japan, UK, Germany, France. Recommended for all other countries. However, you need to use this attribute with one of the following if you want to submit items that are out of stock in your data feed. If you don't use this attribute, all the items in your data feed must be in stock on your site.

We used custom fields for this for a few month now without any problems.

Hi. I guess I am just confused. I wondered if I could build a custom field and use it in my TDF to google so I went through support with Bill. Google is requesting "preorder" as availability which is tied to inventory. I just don't know how to make it a custom field and then populate the inventory settings in the datafeed.

Inquiry: Hi Bill, in order to get some of our products approved by the
new Google Shopping PLA feed we need to set some products as
"preorder" since they are custom made and ordered in advance. Can you
tell me how I can do this since Miva only has Availablity as In Stock
and Out of Stock when I run our data feed? Right now each of these
products say in-stock in our feed. Is it something we can populate

I have never personally dealt with Google Shopping Datafeeds, but you can create a field for anything you'd like, including the fields Google is requiring.

Then you'll need to populate them with the right data and submit them.

You should be able to do this with the Template Data Feed.

First create a custom field to store your custom inventory message. This can be done under utilities. Check the box for custom fields (if they are not already on) and click the custom product field tab. Here, add a new field for your custom inventory message. Remember what code you use because you will need it in the next step.

Then in the template data feed where you are creating your feed you can use this token:

%custom:XXX%

in place of XXX put the code of the custom field you created.

The last thing you need to do is go into each product and populate to custom field with a value. This can be done one by one, or using the import export process.

I added the custom field and updated the TDF and now I have two columns of data regarding availability. The built in availability that shows "in stock" and "out of stock" (which I need for the bulk of our products). I also have a column with my custom field populated with a value "preorder" for the appropriate products. My problem is that all products that are "preorder" still show up as "in stock" in the data as well.

I called the custom product field custom:availability. Will Google know that "custom:availability" should take precedencece over the built-availability for the products that require a "preorder" value?
