Toolkit to display featured products on SFNT

I have toolkit installed and have been able to use it to display particular products on my sfnt page. However, I'd like that product list to be dynamic - pulled from a category called "featured". I'd also like to dynamically show the most recently added products in a section called "What's new". Anyone have any guidance on how to display a variable with this toolkit functionality?

The method of putting a specials category on the SFNT is at #31 at http://www.emporiumplus.com/1AA00223.html However, if you want to do newest products you could create a product list sorted on newest using the plstproduct_list function on a page #110.

right now I'm using (the fantastic!) "quick". Is there a way to edit "quick" to preform the function I'm looking for?

Quick will not work for what you want. You need something dynamic. This test store is using plstproduct_list function. One of its sort options is newest added.

one last question: will toolkit be updated to work with image machine, or do I need to add a thumbnail to each product in order for this to work?

There is a Tool Kit function that retrieves the additional images.

Hi Bill,

So I tried to follow the instructions here http://www.emporiumplus.com/v5/speci...gy_example.htm to display the products in my featured category on the SFNT page, but nothing is happening. I noticed that you instruct that I turn on (among others) the items "Product_list" and "body" but I don't have these items available to turn on on my FEAT page (the new page I created using your template), which may be why the code isn't working for me. Do you have any suggestions?

You are essentially making a CTGY like page but without all the nav and category tree stuff. If you have a CSSUI store, assign the item category_listing

Sorry, I should have clarified that I had already assigned that item. Still can't seem to get this function to display my featured products...

What is the link to your special category page, not the storefront?

What is the category code for that special category?

"feat" is the category code for my "featured" category

That is because you left off the category code.
