Is there a way to get Miva to correctly calculate UPS (or others) shipping costs on multiple packages? We ship UPS Ground and the calculator seems to work pretty well on single boxes but when the customer orders 2 or more items the systems seem to calculate based on weight and ignores the number of packages. Our items have to be shipped in seperate packages. Thanks!

Re: Multiple Package Shipping Costs
It really depends on your packaging rules.
If you pack a box by quantity or weight and it's relatively uniform (you sell one item, that always puts 10 of that item into the same box) then we can accurately predict it.
The more the standard deviation of your packaging process, the more it'll be an approximation.
With that said you should check out our Reference Guide for Packaging Rules info. www.mivamerchant.com/referenceguide

Re: Multiple Package Shipping Costs
I just use the standard USPS and UPS. I have a single product that ships in multiple packages, and exceeds the newly lowered 70 pound single package USPS weight limit. Do I have to create inventory variants to force the system to quote shipping based on multiple boxes? Or is there a simpler way to do this?
Thanks for any help anyone can provide.

Yes the only way to break a product into parts is to use Variants.

Re: Multiple Package Shipping Costs
I think I'm going to need some guidance, and the PR8 reference guide is not helping. Without variants, USPS does not work. With variants, UPS does not work. I've been around in circles and haven't found an answer on the forum. Help?
Thanks again,

Re: Multiple Package Shipping Costs
Okay, UPS must have a max. I fudged the weights and got it to work. It's always right after I give up and ask for help that I find the answer. Thanks anyway!
