Searchable attributes

How do you handle attributes from a searchable viewpoint? We find the serch function in Miva doesn't find the attributes which are separate items but not entered the product list as separate product codes.

Also how do you make them searchable for search engines? Or download them into the shopping sites like Google shopping or Bing shopping?

Not sure what we should be doing.

I am still trying to find a way to make attributes show up in the search. Anyone figured this out?

Hi All,

Yes, I had the same problem a long time ago. I found that MIVA Search will pickup anything in the description field of the product. Since our attributes are part number based, I just placed the attribute part numbers within a comment using <!-- 11111 22222 -->. works great. I have as many as 10 individual attribute part numbers all are searchable.

Just wanted to say thank you. This options is pretty straight forward and eliminates need for expensive customization. Still not sure why Miva doesn't allow searchable attributes.

That's slated to be fixed in 9.7
