What does it take to get miva merchant configured and working properly using a shared ssl on cpanel centos 5 servers.
I.e configuration and what needs to be added to the httpd.conf and so forth please let me know how we can get this work thank you.

If this is for a new store, or likely also recently built stores, the short answer is it won't work. The problem is that stores built using the CSSUI user interface, which is the default as of a couple years ago, generate both the insecure and secure URL's off of the "Domain Name:" setting in the store admin under Global Settings -> Domain Settings -> Information. Since that means both types of URL's use the same domain name, it means shared SSL will not work correctly, or you'd have to run the entire shopping experience on the shared URL which is not ideal. This bug is on our list of outstanding issues however shared SSL has become dramatically less popular than it was in years past so this particular bug has not seen a high priority to fix. If this is for an older MMUI-based store, then shared SSL will work fine.

From a technical standpoint, there are no dependencies between using shared SSL on a site and the Miva Merchant software. You should be able to just install the SSL certificate into cpanel like any other website. Once the certificate is installed, you'll need to add your shared SSL domain as an alias domain for the website, then point the name matching the shared certificate to the correct IP on the DNS servers for the shared SSL domain. That should be all you need to do on the cpanel site. If there are multiple sites sharing the same IP, then you'll probably need to install the SSL at the IP level instead of the domain level. Again though, it will not be different than installing any other certificate so you don't need to take any additional steps that you would not take to install any site-specific certificate.

On the Miva Merchant side, you'd go into the store admin area, Global Settings -> Domain Settings -> Site Configuration and adjust the secure URL settings to match your shared SSL domain. Just keep in mind that this will only work correctly in an MMUI-based store, not the current CSSUI-based interface.
