Phone number (360) 555-1212 being redisplayed as (360)555-1212 on OCST

Hello forum: Just found that if after going thru OCST with a phone # like (360) 555-1212 that if you return to OCST without checking out, the phone numbers are displayed like this: (360)555-1212
Changed the global variable prefix from &mvte to &mvt and problem went away.
I see that all the customer global variables in the customer tab are using the &mvte prefix. Is there a reason for this?

I've changed the phone & fax variable names to the &mvt prefix. Should the all variables be changed to &mvt?

mvte is "ENCODED" and used to populate inputs to prevent someone from entering <script>ReallyBadThing()</script>
mvt is for just showing a global variable to the screen.

Hi Bruce: Thanks for the info. How big a concern is <script>ReallyBadThing()</script>? I don't want my phone numbers to look really wacky, is there a work a round for this?

Oh, sorry, read something wrong there...you shouldn't be seeing "encoded values" in the text box...the textbox should convert the values back to their un-encoded values...something else is messing with them. unfortunately, i have leave for a soccer game...so someone else will have to step in.
