Show text conditional for all child categories

I am looking for an easy way to insert a text message for products in a category and any of it's child, grandchild categories.

For example, I have a category for Jewelry with several child and grandchild categories below that. How would you place a bit of text in all the category and product headers that fall under that selected category?
