I am a Miva Consultant and do work for DelMonicoHatter.com. In trying to figure out how to do an Attribute Template Export, I was sort of bummed out to find that an easy to use "off the shelf" (i.e., non-custom) module might not exist. It's sort of unclear. If one does, please instantly correct me here and post it as a reply!
I decided to see what other off-the-shelf solutions existed out there. I found one, though it's not a Miva Module. I've seen this question around the forums, so I'm posting it here if it will be helpful to others until an Attribute Template Export module appears.
I found a a software product that will help store admins find out which (active) products are using their attribute templates, by searching your live website for pages which use it:
The product is "Inspyder PowerSearch". Costs $50 at the time of this post.
The product searches the live website (front end) for specific keyphrases and returns a list of pages that match the criteria.
The assumption here is that any given attribute template displays a unique character string, which can then be used to identify it on the live site. (If a given Attribute Template does not display a unique string in admin, one could temporarily edit it to make it do so, I suppose.)
This list can then be exported from Inspyder PowerSearch to Excel, as a list of URLs. Since Product Codes are part of each URL, lists of Product Codes could then be assembled which use any given attribute template.
Some quick work in Excel could then be done to reassign attribute codes if you now wanted to do an import.
You may need to run one search for each individual attribute template, although it might be possible to search for more than one thing at a time. So, this may not be as good as direct Attribute Template Export, which I still wish would be made available as an off-the-shelf module, but this might do the trick in the meantime, especially if you're not dealing with a huge amount of attribute templates.
